The approach
Clarity, consistency, corroboration
A practical sequence for helping Google understand who you are.
Clarity
Your "Entity Home" — usually the About page on your own domain — states plainly who you are, what you do, who you serve, and why you're credible, early on the page.
Consistency
Every profile you control repeats the same facts: same name, role, dates and description. Conflicting details make it harder for systems to trust you.
Corroboration
Link from your Entity Home to your profiles and independent mentions, and have them point back. Independent sources confirming your claims builds confidence.
FAQ
Common questions.
Can I buy a Knowledge Panel?
No. Google decides. What you can do is make your identity clear, consistent and well corroborated so there's less reason for Google to hesitate.
Why does a common name matter?
Google has to work out which of many same-named entities is you. That usually means a distinguishing claim (niche, location, credential) and more independent proof.
Do I need a Wikipedia page?
Generally no. Wikipedia has notability requirements, and pages created by people with a conflict of interest are often deleted. Many entities get panels without one.
What if a Wikidata item of mine was deleted?
Don't just recreate it. Understand why it was deleted (usually notability or sourcing), build independent references first, and follow Wikidata's own guidance.
How is this different from SEO?
SEO targets keywords and rankings. Entity work targets whether search engines and AI systems understand who or what you are. They overlap but aren't the same.
Does having a Knowledge Graph ID mean I'll get a panel?
No. Many entities exist in the Knowledge Graph without a visible panel. It's a good sign, but not a promise.
Do panels matter for AI search?
They're a useful signal that Google understands you, and clear, consistent facts about you help AI systems answer questions about you more accurately.
